This past week has been nice. It's was my first full week of summer. I was very upset to leave college, as I made a lot of great friends this past year, but it's really nice to be relaxed at home and in my own routine. I haven't got a job, unfortunately, and I need money, but I've started ghostwriting for money and that's really started picking up. I'm getting a lot more orders than I used to. I'm also sniffing around for babysitting jobs. I'd go for a "real" job but I'm leaving on vacation for three weeks in the middle of summer and going back to school in September (which is 2 hours away), so I know no one will hire me. I'm also looking into a summer writing tutor position at a local college.
I've been eating well and exercising regularly for the past week as well. I put on a bit of weight at college because I have no self-control and I eat a lot more junk, but I'm feeling great with the healthy eating and exercise. I don't even have any cravings for unhealthy food.
What else is going on in my life? Hmmm. I'm participating in Relay for Life in about two weeks which is going to be really fun. I started fundraising this past week to meet my $100 goal. I've had a few interviews for babysitting positions, and one of them is for an adorable 4-month old girl. Her family is really nice and cool, they love to read as much as I do and they have piercings and tattos, very laid back. My favorite kind of people. I'm really hoping I get the job but I also don't want to think about it too much so I don't get my hopes up.
I think that's all that's going on in my life right now. How about you guys? Any interesting developments lately?
I'll include today's feature below. Take a look at the lovely poetry I stumbled across today. (:

in slumber's dreameyes of green
and mood of blue
a dream half seen
a lonely hue
cloud of white
and shades of grey
no soaring height
this dreary day
night of black
with neon glow
the stars held back
tho' faintly show
lips so pink
with raven hair
of lavender ink
and legs so bare
all colours sleep
in skin thigh high
whilst counting sheep
Where flowers ly
in slumber's dream
silk sheets that sing
of dancing queen
and her love king
HonusI tremble before
your stern exterior,
your eyes which
blaze forth in fire,
chill the bone with
glacial ice.
The true of heart
need not fear
the judgement
of your steel
But let the coward,
and the cruel,
who trod upon the weak,
turn their face from
a plea for help,
let evil doing pass unanswered
know the full force
of your wrath.
Strike down
the unjust
and lend your strength
to the soldier of
valor and courage.
things to take to college1. between the two of us, we have eaten miles<da:thumb id="533556392"/>
of pavement, we have spent months pressing
the same four wheels into the ground.
whenever you need to, follow those tracks again.
they will lead you back home.
2. there are songs i only figured out how to sing
with you beside me. even now, the words
sound awkward in my throat.
the notes are wrong. i’m not sure what makes
something sacred, but words like that
i only know how to sing with a quiet
reverence i can’t seem to find anymore.
3. i am good at writing poems that convince
people to stay. i don’t know how to write
a poem to someone that i know is going to leave
no matter what i say.
4. you have faith in spades. and i’m not talking about
god. i’m talking about that tangible faith in
humanity, the faith that always makes you
ask me how my day was, even if the answer
is always the same.
5. to be truthful, i don’t want you to stay.
some people are made for the great unknown.
6. we have watched more sunset

I'm in such awe.
I haven't been on dA in quite a while. I went away on vacation for three weeks to Europe, and generally just fell behind with all things regarding this website. Today I decided to come back on and see how things were going, and I was utterly amazed and humbled by what I found.
One of my poems, november is calling, was featured as a Daily Deviation about a week and a half ago. I honestly never imagined something like this would happen and I'm so happy that it did. I can't thank you all enough for reading and supporting my writing, and I especially thank chromeantennae (https://www.deviantart.com/chromeantennae) for suggesting my poem and LiliWrites (https://www.deviantart.com/liliwrites) for featuring it.

Controversy and Exquisite Words
I'm sure most of you have heard of Caitlyn Jenner, and her reveal of her new name and appearance yesterday.
Personally, I was very happy for her. She looks beautiful (although that is not something that inherently matters to her story or determines her legitimacy as a woman), and she looks happy. She's taken a huge step and has done something she's wanted to do for a very long time, and from what I've read her family is supportive of her choice.
At first, all I saw online was positivity and praise. This made me happy. But then I stumbled across another group of people with very different opinions on the matter. There were countless people m
